Why graduate school? (1/3)
A graduate degree gives you a better chance to reach your full
potential.
Increase your potential for technical leadership positions. We’ll see about this.
Increase your potential for management leadership positions as well. We’ll
see about this.
When to do it?
Many studies show that it is easier to go straight from undergrad to graduate
school.
Many people find it difficult to go back to school after joining the workforce.

Does spending the time and money to pursue a master’s degree lead to a
better salary?
The Washington Posts says: "ROI vary by major. Working as an engineer? Getting a
graduate degree will probably lead to a big raise. For a journalist, not so much.“
The Harvard Business Review says: “1/3 of CEO’s hold technical graduate degrees
and 1/3 MBA’s” You do not necessarily need and MBA to go into management.
US Bureau of Labor Statistics says:
Unemployment of master’s is lower than bachelor’s graduates.
Median earnings of master’s degree holders is on average $12k higher than a bachelor’s.
@ WVU, all graduate students on a GRA receive FREE TUITION from the
university.
Most MS and Ph.D. engineering students are paid to pursue their degree.

If you hold a GPA > 3.0, then the
question becomes, why not?
