  • New: All Ph.D. applicants to AE, ME, and MS&E, as well as all M.S. applicants to MS&E that have already started their online application may also apply for an APPLICATION FEE WAIVER but only after starting the online application!
  • New: The MAE department, in cooperation with split funding from the college, will award four (4) “Supplemental Graduate Scholarships” of $1500/semester, to outstanding incoming Ph.D, students in AE, ME, and MS&E that have been awarded a Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) in the department, renewable for up to 3 years based on the student’s academic performance and the annual recommendation of their research advisor.

    • GRE Quantitative > 74% except applicants graduated from USA universities
  • Ph.D. AE & ME, minimum requirements
    • MS GPa > 3.3

    • BS GPa > 3.0
    • GRE Quantitative > 74% all applicants
  • Ph.D. Materials Science & Engineering (MS&E), minimum requirements
    • MS GPa > 3.3
    • GRE Quantitative > 74% all applicants
  • Direct track to Ph.D. ME, AE, MS&E, minimum requirements
    • MS GPa > 3.5 or attain 3.75 GPa during first two semesters in MAE's MS program.
    • GRE Quantitative > 74% all applicants.
  • Temporary provision due to the pandemic: GRE waved for international students who have a GPa > 3.5 in their master's degree and are recommended by one of our faculty members who will commit to support him/her as a GRA.

    • Summer semester: February 1

    • Late applications may be considered in some cases.
  • (**) TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo is not required for applicants that have a high school diploma or a bachelor’s degree from the United States, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, or Australia. An American MS degree is not enough to satisfy the TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo requirements. Expired TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo scores will be accepted as long as the student has been in the US continuously (except short trips abroad) since the score expired (submit expired TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo score report with the application).
